My career has been a dynamic journey through the world of journalism and communications, spanning print, digital, and television. I've delved into a wide range of topics, from academia to real estate to tax policy, and everything in between. This adaptability is what I impart to my students, equipping them for success in an ever-evolving industry.
I previously served as the editor of California Real Estate, the official publication of the California Association of Realtors® (C.A.R.). My earlier work as an editorial writer and assistant deputy editor for The Orange County Register, at the time the most respected paper serving California's third-largest metro area, prepared me for covering sensitive policy, culture, and trends. In my 15+ years in the media, I have been a contributor to KCET, Fox Business, Realtor Magazine, Robb Report, The Press-Enterprise, The Orange County Register, Florida Realtor, California Real Estate, The Guardian, Scientific American, Times of Israel, Opportunity Lives, and other esteemed publications.

My "day job" takes me to Glendale Community College, where I serve as a full-time Language Arts instructor and oversee official student publications. I earned my Master of Arts in Journalism at USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. I am also a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, receiving my Bachelor of Arts in English with distinguished honors. In 2020, I earned my Doctorate degree in Education Studies from California State University, Northridge. My research explored the relationship between student engagement and social media to inform future educators, though my own use of social media has declined in recent years.
An ambitious person and hard worker by nature, I've always had dreams that I turned into short- and long-term goals. In the summer of 2019, I published a children's book. A heartfelt endeavor of mine, this project was something I've always known I would eventually complete. I hope to publish more children's literature, particularly as motherhood shapes and deepens my creative perspective. My latest project is a book of poems, with publication planned for 2027.
